Heavy Equipment Fleet Products

Designed for heavy equipment fleets of all types and sizes

Heavy Equipment Fleet Devices (HEU) feature products and services for construction equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks and many more specialized machines.

Businesses that operate heavy equipment face common challenges. Each machine has an hour meter that is used to monitor engine hours (how long the engine is running). This information is required for billing, maintenance, monitoring performance and efficiency measurement. The machines are frequently left on job sites and therefore are at risk of theft. Each machine is refueled frequently and preventative maintenance must be performed at regular intervals.

Our services deliver a powerful set of capabilities to combat these common challenges.

Heavy Equipment Fleet Solutions:

HEU devices provide heavy equipment companies with the ability to simply and cost effectively analyze equipment activities.  You can access information about your heavy equipment fleet from virtually anywhere via the Internet. We provide services to automate maintenance routines, protect equipment, verify daily utilization and validate the resulting revenue. Using your own computer with Internet access, you can:

  • Obtain engine hours and the location of every machine daily to:
    - improve planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance
    - optimize fleet size and utilization
    - manage equipment availability
    - ensure accurate billing

  • Locate missing and stolen equipment

  • Automatically gather billing information by using equipment utilization reports

  • Enforce restricted areas by receiving real-time notification of unauthorized equipment movement

  • Prioritize and simplify preventative maintenance monitoring and planning

  • Optimize fleet size by analyzing utilization information

The value that heavy equipment companies receive is the direct result of the intelligence that our products bring to machines, and the related operational processes. We intelligently automate the machines of the heavy equipment industry.

Features and Functions:

Operator Initiated Actions and Functions
"On demand" actions sent by user for information from the equipment

  • Vehicle Locating
Gain real-time access to your machine’s location. Locations are displayed on a digitized map, which include the speed, time and direction of the equipment. This helps manage equipment availability, optimize fleet size and maximize utilization

  • Engine Hour Calibration
Calibrate each piece of equipment’s “actual engine hours” with “reported engine hours”. This ensures that engine hours on the equipment coincide with the device reported engine hours online, resulting in more accurate equipment maintenance.

  • Asset Groupings/Job-site Assignment
A fleet operator can organize equipment into logical groupings to simplify the management of those pieces of equipment. Examples of equipment groupings are a worksite, crew or billing group. The fleet operator can create, edit and remove asset groups in the online database, as well as assign and remove equipment from these groups.

  • Preventative Maintenance Planning
Define maintenance cycles by using time or engine hours. Use the online interface to review preventative maintenance reports that help you know when your equipment should be serviced or inspected to avoid downtime failures.

  • Maintenance Reporting and Logging
This report provides the ability to log preventative maintenance tasks and view historical maintenance activities via the Internet.

Automated Alerts
Automatic Alerts generated from the equipment

  • Dynamic Boundaries/Movement Violation
You can set a predefined radial boundary around a heavy equipment machine’s specific location and view each boundary on digitized maps. When the radial boundary is enabled and a piece of equipment exits that area, a boundary crossing alert will be generated.

  • Boundary Crossing
Notification is sent whenever heavy equipment machines cross predefined geographical boundaries. This helps you enforce restricted areas by automatically being advised when equipment crosses boundaries.

  • Plug Pull Engine Hours
A mechanic performing maintenance on a piece of equipment can generate an alert that reports engine hours. The fleet manager can then use the information contained in the alert to calibrate the engine hours online.

Fleet Management Reports
Heavy Equipment Fleet Management Reports are predefined summaries of equipment activities on the system. These reports are designed to provide you with tactical information about your fleet of equipment. With this knowledge, you can analyze your operations and make decisions to improve efficiency.

  • Asset Report
A report showing all fleet equipment and the accumulated engine hours on each machine. You can easily identify if preventative maintenance is due on any piece of equipment by the color coded system.

  •  Preventative Maintenance Report
A report showing only the equipment that has preventative maintenance scheduled on it. Each piece of equipment is color coded depending on when the preventative maintenance is due.

  • Preventative Maintenance Log
A report showing the historical maintenance performed on fleet equipment. The report shows the type of maintenance, when it was completed and the number of engine hours on the equipment at the time of the maintenance.

  • Utilization Report
A report showing the utilization of equipment based on fleet operator inputs. This report is configured by the fleet operator and calculates if the equipment is being used appropriately.
